We all know paper plates can be used for foods and many different crafts. Something that you never thought of though is paper plates can be used for many other things besides the norm. Here are some great ways to use up any extra paper plates and sometimes that can get you out of a pinch when needed.
Alternative Use for Paper Plates #1-China Plates
If you have a nice set of china plates and you stack them inside your kitchen then you can use paper plates to help protect them from chipping and cracking. Just place a paper plate between each china plate and they will stay protected for as long as you need it to.
Alternative Use for Paper Plates #2- Painting Tool
Paper plates come in handy when your painting for two different reasons. You can set your wet paint brushes on the paper plate to stop paint from getting any other place. You can also put a paper plate underneath your paint can to catch any drips from the paint can while painting.
Alternative Use for Paper Plates #3- Microwave
Something that I never understood is why people purchase them microwave shields and they pay a lot of money for them. Half the time they don’t fit and don’t let your foods vent the way they should. Use a paper plate instead. Its perfect size and its thin enough to let your foods vent the way they should. As an added bonus, they are a lot cheaper then microwave shields.
Alternative Use for Paper Plates #4- Garbage Can
I don’t know how it happens, but no matter what you do there always seems to be some sort of garbage that magically makes it way to the bottom of the can. I never understood how the garbage gets underneath the bag. Place a paper plate at the bottom of the can underneath the bag itself and you will stop the nasty stuff from gathering at the bottom of your can. When you pull your bag out to change it, grab the paper plate and throw it away and replace it with a new one just like you do the bag.
Alternative Use for Paper Plates #5- Frisbee Flash Cards
Plain boring old flash cards can be not so fun for kids trying to learn. This works more with the little ones who are still trying to learn their ABC’s and 123s. Write down all your letters like you normally would with index cards and if they get it right, they get to throw the Frisbee. You could even set up a net and if they make so many in the net right they get a prize. They will try their hardest to get them right so they can throw the Frisbee and win a prize.
