Corbett, OR, a short drive from Gresham holds one of the largest 4th of July Celebrations in the Portland area. Remember Our Heroes at the Corbett Fun Festival 4th of July Celebration is a family-oriented fun filled day of hot rods, a parade full of old fashioned candy tossing, a mole judging contest, all day fun for the kids in the Fun Zone, music, and ending the day a, spectacular fireworks display.
The festivities, Sunday, July 4th, kick off with a two mile Independence Day Parade that travels along the Historic Columbia River Highway from Springdale to Corbett. The parade start time is 11:00am.
The “Corbett Cruise-In” will be registering street rods from 8am-10am at Dabney Park. Registered street rods will begin parading through town at 10:30am. After the parade, you can get a closer look at all the cool rides at Show and Shine in the parking lot of the grade school.
The Corbett Fun Festival 4th of July Celebration will officially start at 1:00pm on the Corbett School Grounds.
Admission for this all day event is only $5.00 per person, and includes all music, the Fun Zone, and the fireworks spectacular. All proceeds from this years festival will go towards the Corbett Fun Festival 4th of July Celebration 2011.
The Fun Zone this year will be bigger and better than ever! Your kids will have a blast playing on the inflatables, jump houses, rides, and more.
Get a group of your friends together for a fast-paced game of volleyball. Stuff your face in the Pie Eating Contest with Clowns! Watch while the 10th Annual Mole Contest winner is announced. Stop and visit the arts and crafts booths, and pick up a few early Christmas gifts.
Food vendors will be featuring a multitude of tasty treats this 4th of July. Tempt your taste buds with hot dogs, burgers, corn dogs, snow cones, ice cream and more. Cool off with Dairy Queen’s newest treat, the Root Beer Garden Float! Yummy!
Your family will have a ton of fun at the festival, but it’s also important to remember why we celebrate the 4th of July. 4th of July program highlights include: A welcome by Phil “Big Bear” DuFresne, a flag salute, the introduction of the Grand Marshall, a special honor to veteran Larry Deibert, the National Anthem, the release of 50 white birds in honor of all our men and women who have served and sacrifice their lives, and the ground breaking of the stadium.
The Live Music Main Stage will feature local bands performing through out the day and into the evening. Acts include: The Timeless Trilogy, The Kooltones, Johnny Limbo & The Lugnuts, and from 6:45pm till dusk, dance till you drop to Big Band tunes.
The Corbett Fun Festival 4th of July Celebration will conclude at dusk with the Corbett’s Fireworks Show – one of the largest fireworks displays in the Portland Metro Area!
