Have you ever considered using detoxifying methods as a means to achieve these goals? Adopting a few detoxifying practices on a regular basis not only cleanse the body, mind and emotions, they help you achieve your ideal weight. Isn’t that something many of us really want? Would you be excited if your body was at it’s ideal weight, functioned smoothly and effortlessly and had lots of energy? I know I would. A few advantages of detoxifying your body are: weight loss or weight control, improved digestion, decreased risk of disease and chronic health conditions, improved mental clarity, minimized stress reactions, improved overall health, energy and vitality.
Here are 3 easy ways to achieve that goal. They all help to clean out toxins, candida, parasites and other unwanted guests from our bodies that rob our energy and health causing extra unwanted fat and setting up the conditions for chronic diseases.
1. Drink organic or wildcrafted herbal teas regularly – There are many herbs that are great at cleansing various parts of the body. Some are specific to eliminating parasites, candida, mold and other pathogens throughout the body. These guests accumulate and multiply mainly from an overabundance of sugars and refined carbohydrates / starches in the diet. These yeast and fungal organisms along with the toxic waste they emit are thought to be a major contributing factor of degenerative diseases. Some of those are: cancer, mental illness, irritable bowel, chronic fatigue, over eating, excessive fat production, hormone imbalances, alcoholism, lupus, digestive disorders, chemical sensitivities and allergies, asthma, ADD, multiple sclerosis, addisons disease, leaky gut syndrome, autism and the list goes on. You can see that taking action to keep this yeast in proper proportion with the good flora in your body would do wonders for your health now and in the future. Consciously monitoring your intake of sugar ( refined or natural ) and white products ( breads, pasta, cakes etc ) along with adding in some cleansing herbs, greens and a good probiotic, will do miracles for your weight and your health. The following teas are ones I use regularly and find both the most effective and the most palpable. I encourage you to create you own special combination, or just enjoy one herb at a time. Be sure to always purchase your herbs from a reputable source that has integrity and done the needed testing for authenticity and purity. To prepare the tea add 1-2 tablespoons dried herbs per cup of pure water, plus 1 tablespoon extra per pot. Soak the herbs in a large pot ( not aluminum or teflon) for 15 minutes, then boil for 5 minutes. You can let the herbs sit for 30 minutes or strain and enjoy right away. Store in glass containers in the refrigerator for several days as you enjoy at least 16 oz of the tea per day. If you are dealing with a chronic issue up to 6 cups per day are recommended. You will want to rotate these combinations or the herbs within these combinations for best results over time.
Combination #1 – Pau D’ Arco, Horsetail, Dandelion Root, Oregon Grape, Fresh Ginger Root and Cinnamon.
Combination #2 – Pau D’ Arco, Oregon Grape, Burdock or Yellow Dock, Self Heal, Golden Seal, Orange Peel, Cinnamon and Cloves.

In a blender combine:
2 cups hot herbal tea, see above combinations
1/2 cup almond or rice milk
2 tsp raw cacao powder
1 TBS raw maca powder
2 tsp raw coconut oil
1 tsp ground chia seeds
1 TBS whey or hemp protein powder
1 tsp chaga or reishi mushroom powder
2 tsp mesquite powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla powder
a little stevia, agave or coconut palm sugar if needed
Blend until frothy and serve immediately in a mug.
2. Juice fresh organic or home grown greens – Drinking at least 1, 8oz glass of fresh organic green juice every day will do wonders for your health and mental attitude, as well as your weight and energy level. I can’t say enough about the healing and balancing power of GREEN. The color green is the color of nature, balance, health, the heart chakra, the balancing color in light therapy and much more. This color, whether you drink it, wear it as clothing, use the colored light or just imagine the green color flooding your body and cells, has a balancing and healing effect. The more you use and ingest green, the more healing and balance you will experience. Here is a quick juice to get you started. You can make it in a blender or use your juicer.
4 stalks organic celery
1/2 organic cucumber
1 orange if needed
Either juice or blend and drink.
3. Cleansing the colon and liver periodically – your liver is the second largest organ and one of your greatest allies. I performs well over 200 different functions and is the body’s primary filter as well as one of the most important detoxification organs along with your skin. Some functions associated with your liver and vital to health include: regulating, storing, secreting, transforming, synthesizing and breaking down substances in your body. So you can see how keeping it in good working order can be very beneficial to achieving and maintaining your ideal weight and health. Before you start on a liver flush it would benefit you greatly to do a colon cleanse and open the detoxification pathway and remove the mucus housing for parasites and candida. As the colon cleanse removes the mucous plaque that accumulates on the colon walls absorption of valuable food and nutrients increases and your need for constant food intake decreases. Are you aware that your colon has a large effect on your immune system and it’s proper functioning? Good reason to keep it clean, right? Most people cleanse two times per year and will loose an average of 10 pounds per cleanse. Cleansing is recommended once in the spring and again in the fall, although can be done every 3 months if needed.
