For anyone truck shopping in 2011, it’s time to get excited. The shopping season hasn’t even begun and already it is looking promising. Whether you’re looking to buy American or shopping for fuel efficiency, the market has the perfect car out there for you. These are some of the trucks we can anticipate out on the show floor in 2011.
#1: 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD:
This heavy duty comes with an option of a 6.0 liter gas or 6.6 liter diesel V8. The Silverado has a rich reputation in the truck community, being on the market for many years now. Look for the Silverado to be delivered to your local Chevy dealer as soon as this summer (Levine, M., 2010).
#2: 2011 Ford F-150:
The 2010 Ford F-150 boasts an impressive 15 city/19 highway engine, an impressive feat for a large truck. Ford’s slogan for the F-150 is that “It’s not just a pickup truck. It’s a Ford F-150.” Ford is allowed to brag by building a great truck for as low as $21,000. Ford once again will impress with the F-150. Everything we’ve seen in 2010 will likely return with this year’s model (“2010 ford f-150,”).
#3: 2011 Dodge Ram:
Showing a more expensive price tag than the F-150 is the 2011 Dodge Ram which is expected to start at $28,000, the price of the 2010. The Ram will come in both the 2500 class and the 3500 class. The 3500 comes with a crew cab while the 2500 comes with a standard 8″ box cab. The 2011 Ram will up to live up to the reputation of its previous year’s model even though the 2010 Ram was Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year (“2010 ram 2500 and 3500,”).
#4: 2011 Toyota Tacoma:
The lone non-American make model on this list is the Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma will come with the option of a 2.7 liter four-cylinder or a 4.0 liter V6, two small engines for a truck. However, for some consumers, a small engine may be exactly what they need. Customers doing moderate hauling do not need a large engine like that in the Silverado (“2011 toyota tacoma preview,”).
#5: 2011 Sierra HD:
GMC’s truck returns in 2011 with great anticipation. The fuel economy for this truck has not yet been released making you wonder what it will be. The Sierra will come with the option of the 2500HD, 3500HD, and Denali HD with prices increasing respectively. The Sierra will hit stores later this year (“Sierra,”).
Of course these all are in no particular order. Each truck is an excellent buy. What truck a customer picks up is solely based on personal preference. The 2011 season looks to be promising and let’s hope it stays that way.
