2010 Vacation Bible Schools in Bakersfield, California

When school gets out for my kids, it doesn’t take long for them to become bored of being home all the time. I like to liven up their summer by taking them to Vacation Bible School once or twice during the summer. You don’t have to be a member of a church to take your kids for VBS either. Churches welcome new comers and your child may have a lot of fun learning about a different church and meeting new people. This article will detail a few of the Vacation Bible School’s happening in Bakersfield California during 2010.

2010 VacationBibleSchool‘s in Bakersfield, California #1: ValleyBaptistChurch

Valley Baptist Church kicks off their VBS on June 14th through June 18th. VBS starts at 8:15 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. The theme this year is Saddle Ridge Ranch. At the end of VBS, Valley Baptist always has a carnival with a program that the kids are in, games, cotton candy and more! Vacation Bible School at Valley Baptist is free and open to kids who have completed Kindergarten through 8th grade. You can register your child online here. 2010 VacationBibleSchool‘s in Bakersfield, California #2: St. John’sLutheranChurch

There are going to be two dates for VBS at St. John’s Lutheran Church so if your child can’t make it one week, they can go the other (your child can only go for one week total). The dates are June 21st to June 25th and June 28th through July 2nd. Class starts at 8:30 each day and ends at 12 PM. VBS is free to attend. The theme is SonQuest Rainforest. Children who are 4 through those that have completed fifth grade may attend. You can register online at this link. 2010 VacationBibleSchool‘s in Bakersfield, California #3: HeritageBibleChurch

Heritage Bible Church, located at 2323 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93306, is hosting VBS on July 26th through July 30th. VBS starts each day at 9 AM and ends at 12 PM. The theme this year is High Seas Expedition and kids will have fun pretending they are on the high seas as they learn about God and make new friends. 2010 VacationBibleSchool‘s in Bakersfield, California #4: First Presbyterian

First Presbyterian is located in the heart of downtown Bakersfield. They will be having Vacation Bible School on July 12th through July 16th. VBS starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 11 AM. The theme is Egypt Joseph’s Journey from Prison to Palace. Kids who will be in Kindergarten through 6th grade in Fall 2010 are invited to register. There is a fee of $15 dollars per child with a $45 maximum fee per family (so if you have more then three kids, any kids after that will be free). The price includes a t-shirt for your child, a family dinner on July 15th), snacks, crafts and much more. Go Fish: Backstage with the Bible is the theme for Calvary Bible Church this year. VBS begins on June 21st and ends on June 25th. It starts at 8:45 AM and ends at 12 PM.
