2010 Fourth of July Events for the Hamptons, Long Island, NY

It’s that time of year again… Pack up the car and head on out to the Hamptons. With 4th of July right around the corner we often find ourselves wondering what our plans are going to be. In The Hampton’s, Long Island, NY there are plenty of events all weekend long to keep us busy. There is something for everyone.

Joy Behar is going to be at the Bay Street Theatre at 8pm on July 3rd. She has her own show on HLN and is one of the original ladies of The View! This is sure to be an entertaining night. The Third Annual East Hampton Arts Festival is being held All weekend. 10am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday and 10am-5pm on Monday. This fair will be located at the American Legion East Hampton Post in Amagansett. This is a free event and parking is free as well. This festival is an excellent way to see what talents the people of the Hampton’s have as well as artists from 22 states. 100 of the countries best artists will be there showcasing their works in mediums ranging from canvas, sculpture, glass, and jewelry among others. With over 10,000 pieces expected to be there, it’s great chance to add you’re your collection of art.

Saturday Night Lives own Darrell Hammond will be at the Bay Street Theatre on Monday July 5th at 8pm for a night of comedy. For tickets and more information visit www.baysreet.org

The Stylistics will be preforming at the Westhampton Beach Preforming Arts Center on Saturday July 3rd at 8:30pm. Tickets range from $65 to $95 and can be bought by calling the box office at 631-288-1500.

The Fifth Annual Long Island Comedy Festival is being held in Montauk at Montauk Downs at 50 South Fairview Ave from 8:30pm to 10:15pm. The Hamptons Swim to Fight Cancer will be held Saturday July 3rd at Fresh Pond beach in Gardiners Bay. Swim Across America has teamed up with the East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue Squad to raise money for Fighting Chance of Sag Harbor, which is a resource, and support center for cancer patients and their families. Also benifiting from the procedes are the the MSKCC (SAA Lab), the Childrens Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, and the Cold Spring Harbor Lab. This is not a race, but rather a fun swim fro swimmers of all ages. There will be a 5K swim, a mile swim, and a half mile swim. Come out to show your support, or hop in the water and go for a swim. And what Forth of July weekend would be complete without fireworks? For a spectacular display by Long Islands own Grucci Fireworks, head on out to Montauk at Umbrella beach for “Stars Over Montauk” on the 4th. It’s the best show of the weekend in the Hamptons.
