2 Liqueur Recipes – Homemade Irish Cream and Homemade Creme De Menthe

How to Make Homemade Irish Cream: If you like Baileys Irish Cream liqueur, you will love this recipe for homemade Irish cream. This is a much cheaper way to enjoy Irish cream. Yes, it takes a tiny bit of work to make it, but all you really have to do it put stuff in the blender and blend. You can make it using your favorite alcohol base and you can store it for a month. So you can make a big batch and have Irish cream on hand all the time! Just don’t let the kids get into this. This Irish cream is for adults only. This recipe makes 5 cups of Irish cream liqueur.

Ingredient List to Make Homemade Irish Cream
1+3/4 cups of your favorite liqueur (whiskey, brandy, rum, bourbon)
1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup light cream
4 eggs
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons instant coffee
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Step 1: Combine all the ingredients in a blender.

Step 2: Blend until smooth.

Step 3: Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Step 4: Stir or shake before serving.

Tips: You can serve this Irish cream on the rocks or you can use it in any cocktail recipe that calls for Irish cream. This is very rich so take it easy!

How to Make Homemade Creme de Menthe: This is a very easy recipe to make homemade Creme de Menthe liqueur. It’s not exactly the real thing, but it’s totally delicious and so easy to make! And you will save money by making your own Creme de Menthe. Just remember, Creme de Menthe is an alcoholic drink and it is for adults only. Keep it away from children.

Ingredient List to Make Homemade Creme de Menthe
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup vodka
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
7 drops of green food coloring
Glass bottle or jar

Step 1: Bring the 2 cups of water and the 2 cups of sugar to a boil.

Step 2: Turn down the heat and let the sugar water simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 3: Take the sugar water off the heat and let it cool completely.

Step 4: Stir in the vodka, the peppermint extract, and food coloring.

Step 5: Pour the Creme de Menthe into a glass bottle or jar and store for at least a week before using to let the flavor bloom. If you can’t wait, you are allowed to drink it right away!

Tips: You can serve this Creme de Menthe on the rocks or with cream to make a Grasshopper or you can use it in any cocktail recipe or dessert recipe that calls for Creme de Menthe.
