Ingredient List for Easy Rum Cake with Cake Mix:
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup dark rum
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Ingredient List For Glaze:
1/2 cup butter
1/8 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup dark rum
Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Step 2: Grease and flour a 10 inch bundt pan.
Step 3: Sprinkle nuts over the bottom of the pan. If you don’t want nuts just skip this step.
Step 4: Put the yellow cake mix in a bowl.
Step 5: Add the rest of the cake ingredients and beat with hand mixer on medium speed for 1 minute (or hand mix until well blended).
Step 6: Pour the batter over the nuts in the pan.
Step 7: Bake for 1 hour then cool for 10 minutes then invert the cake on a serving plate.
Step 8: Start the glaze by melting the butter in a saucepan.
Step 9: Stir in the water and the sugar and boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Step 10: Remove the glaze from the heat and stir in the dark rum.
Step 11: Prick the top of the cake with a fork.
Step 12: Drizzle the glaze over the top of the cake.

You generally use rum sauce over cakes, but you can also drizzle it over puddings, ice cream or any other dessert. 1/2 cup water
1/4 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, which is one stick (use real butter, not margarine)
1/4 cup rum, dark rum is best
Step 1: Combine the water, sugar and butter in a small saucepan.
Step 2: Heat over low heat until mixture reaches a boil.
Step 3: Remove from heat, add the rum and stir.
Step 4: Let the rum sauce cool in the saucepan.
Step 5: Pour the rum into any jar or container with a lid.
Step 6: Use the rum sauce right away or store it in the refrigerator for two weeks.
