11th Annual San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition Now Accepting Film Submissions

by itchyfish

This is a call for entries for the 11th Annual San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition, scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings, September 17th and 18th, 2010, at the beautiful Qualcomm Hall located at 5775 Morehouse Drive, San Diego, CA 92121.

Here is your chance to see your work in a state-of-the-art venue on a giant screen. There is no entry fee!
Each evening will feature a different program consisting of 14 to 16 short underwater films from locations all over the world.

Entry Guidelines:

Submissions deadline must be postmarked no later than July 15th, 2010. Submissions will not be returned, so do not send originals.

We are accepting Standard Definition NTSC DV, and 1080i60, 1080p30, and 720p30 High Definition video, either on
mini-DV/HDV tape, or archived on a CD or DVD as a self-contained, full resolution QuickTime movie file. If you are
working in a tape-based format (DV NTSC or HDV 1080i60), please submit your entry on mini-DV/HDV tape for best
results.

If you are working in a tapeless format, please submit your entry as a full resolution, self-contained QuickTime
movie file archived on a CD or DVD, (not a self-playing DVD, but a Quicktime file archived to a DVD.) If your full
resolution Quicktime file is larger than will fit archived as a file on a DVD, please contact us for further assistance.

We cannot accept self-playing DVDs, Blu-Ray DVDs, PAL or 1080i50/1080p25/720p25 submissions. Please convert your video to NTSC DV if you are working in standard definition, or 1080i60/1080p30/720p30 if you are working in high
definition. We have no entry fees and are an all-volunteer organization. So we depend upon the filmmaker entrants to
submit their films in formats we can readily work with to project in the highest possible quality at Qualcomm Hall.
No film can be longer than five minutes and at least 50% of the footage must be underwater.

Please ensure that you have all rights, to all media that is used in your film(s)–music, visual footage, personal, copyright, and any other legal right.

Please leave at least a 15 second black leader at the beginning of your submissions if you are submitting on mini-DV tape.

More than one film may be entered on a tape, but please include a 15 second black leader before each film.
Filmmakers are limited to 2 submissions per filmmaker.

Please include your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, filmʼs name and length, and a brief bio with your
submission(s) using the form provided on the Guidelines page of the UFEX website, http://sdufex.com . Please complete one form for each film entered.
