Lost left many fans unsatisfied with how the drama ended. All over the internet bloggers, writers and one very funny video from College Humor.com were listing all the questions that never got answered. Nobody should have expected all the questions to be answered. Why there was a panda bear in Walt’s comic and why Kate’s horse appeared out of nowhere were very small in the scheme of things, but there were at least 10 questions that did need to be answered.
Five of these 10 questions that Lost needed to answers are pretty similar. Each of them goes like this. Why was (fill in the blank) so special? I can accept that all the Losties are “special” because Jacob picked them, but when one of these special people is doing something that the other special people can’t then we should be told why.
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Why Was Hurley So Special?
In Season 6 Jack, Jin, Sun, Hurley and Sawyer are candidates but only Hurley can see Jacob. Why? Is it because Hurley is just a trusting fellow? Is it because Jacob wants Hurley to take control of the island? Is it because Hurley is a Star Wars geek and is the most likely to be Obi Wan Kenobi’d?
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Why Was Walt So Special?
The Others were pretty anxious to get their hands on Walt. Maybe, just maybe, the Others only stole Walt because they needed something to trade Ben for but that doesn’t explain why both Shannon and Locke had visions of Walt. I understand why Walt was gone from the show, the actor grew up, but Walt should have been explained. It’s not like the actor growing up surprised them. Malcolm David Kelley isn’t the first person to grow after age 12.
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Why Was Sawyer So Special?
We established before that Hurley was the only one that could see Jacob. That’s not totally true. One scene Smocke (the Locke/Smoke Monster) and Sawyer are trudging through the jungle when young Jacob runs by. Sawyer asks who it is and Smocke is surprised Sawyer can see him. What made Sawyer so special that he could see Jacob all of sudden? Maybe I just want to know the answer because I’m disappointed that Sawyer had nothing to do. Jack saved the island, Sayid sacrificed himself, Jin and Sun went down together, Kate reunited Claire and Aaron. Sawyer did nothing. Carlton Cuse admitted that Sawyer is his favorite character but didn’t even give him anything to do in the end.
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Why Was Dogen So Special?
For five seasons the Smoke Monster did whatever it wanted to whoever it wanted. Suddenly in season six there is somebody so powerful that he can stop the smoke monster from entering the temple. Why? You can’t just drop in some new character that is that powerful and not explain anything about them.
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Why Was Desmond So Special?
Over and over again we were reminded that Desmond was special. Desmond was the key to everything. Desmond could save everybody or he could destroy everybody, but why? Why was Desmond the special one? Why was Desmond the key to everything and not Jack, Sawyer Ben or Arzt?
No topic was danced around more than the Smoke Monster himself. In Season 1 we first saw the Smoke Monster and immediately it was the biggest question of the television show. In the end we got an answer but not the entire answer.
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Why Does the Smoke Monster Make Mechanical Noises
I’d love to know why Jacob’s brother falling into the light turned him into a smoke monster and not some other creature but I’ll just accept that is happened. Making the smoke monster have mechanical noises is not something that a smoke cloud would normally do though. It was very deliberate to make the smoke monster sound that way and it was never explained why.
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Defense System
For a few seasons we had wondered what the Smoke Monster was and we finally got our first partial answer when Ben told the Losties that the Smoke Monster was a defense system for the island. The Smoke Monster was a defense system for the island? You mean the same Smoke Monster that is trying to destroy the island? I suppose Cuse and Damon Lindelof could write this mistake off by saying the Smoke Monster lied to Ben and said he was a defense system. The only problem there is that at the time Ben was loyal to Jacob. Surely Ben would have asked Jacob what the Smoke Monster was and Jacob would tell Ben it was not to be trusted.
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Temple
In Season 6 the Smoke Monster can not enter the temple. As long as the people are in the temple with Dogen they are all safe. Except that earlier in the show the Smoke Monster had dragged people under the temple. How come the temple was all of a sudden hazardous to the Smoke Monster when it was safe earlier?
There were a lot of questions that were not answered that were not that important. If something is mentioned just once or twice it’s not a big deal. Something like that four-toed statue is just there for show. But any story that is touched on over and over for a good amount of time needs to be answered and at least two of those mysteries were never explained.
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: Why Can’t Babies Be Born on the Island
The baby birth mystery was basically Claire and Aaron’s entire storyline. It was the story that introduced us to Juliet and it was a large part of Jin and Sun’s storyline. How could this baby mystery go absolutely nowhere?
10 Questions Lost Should Have Answered: What Were the Numbers
In the very first season we learned about Hurley’s unlucky numbers. They were a part of the show all the way up to the very end. For six years it was probably the second most asked question behind the Smoke Monster. Never revealing exactly what the numbers were is like reading a mystery novel that doesn’t reveal the killer at the end.
